Module 1: Classic Coaching

This is a very intensive 4 day module across two weekends consisting of theory, practical and assessment. The assessment is continual throughout the 4 days.

The course will explore the role of the coach in the modern world and ask you to think about the numerous reasons people will seek a coach. We will examine the various methods of the delivery of coaching. You will learn the differences between advice, guidance and the implementation of these in coaching. You will learn how to review your thoughts and any emotions about certain situations, and how to structure a plan personal for development. We also teach the questioning techniques required and how to develop a preliminary client session.

We focus on the personal qualities a coach needs to posses to be effective at influencing a client, including confidentiality and report taking.

Neuro Linguistic Programming, (NLP), is an incredibly powerful coaching tool. It is taught fully in its own specific module but its importance is introduced in this one. This part of the course shows you how to build key client relationships, (rapport), thus creating and maintaining the confidence and trust of clients. You will develop interviewing techniques, this is key to the successful coaching session and eliciting all the information you need about every aspect of the client’s lifestyle and personal/business situation.
